Only 4.5 kms. From the city proper. Bunot lake has a normal surface area of 30.5 hectares with a maximum depth of 23 meters. According to the legend, the name was derived from the native name of coconut husk. During those times a group of Spanish soldiers came upon to this quiet lagoon. They ask a man husking coconut near the lake for the name of the lake. A man, thinking that the soldiers were asking for the native name of coconut husk, he replied: “Bunot.” That’s the time when the lagoon was called Lake Bunot.
This lake is known for its cultured tilapia and quite crowded of fishpens for Nilotica fingerlings.
unfortunately there's no view deck in the place for us
to take a good look of the lake. After our photo shoots we proceed to our next destination which is Nagcarlan's Underground Cemetery.
