Side Trip: Bunga Falls

BUNGA FALLS

Actually Bunga Falls was not included in our list of destination during this expedition but because of the suggestion that comes from the locals that we talk to. We decided to include it to our itenirary. After having photo opps at Nagcarlan Church we move to Bunga Falls.

We take trike mobile from Public Market to bring us to Bunga Falls. It cost P80.00 per ride forth only. Seeing this kind of scenery is definitely astonishing and refreshing. The view excites us to take a plunge and feel the cold water that falls down the basin. But then my friends are quite hesitant to take a dip because of the story that lies beneath this beautiful spot.  Some of local folklore believe that there is a creature that dwells in the pool of Bunga Falls, grabbing unaware outsiders(Dayo) taking into deepest part of the water. But it does'nt stop me to experience the refreshing cold water of Bunga Falls. Knowing all those story is creeping me out while swimming on the Basin.

Myth of Bunga Falls

The name Bunga was derived from once abundant Bunga Palms located in the area. Bunga is the tagalog term for Betel Nut, an addictive substance used by the elders and is also known as "nga-nga".
